I think that most of us today are aware of the harmful effects of the ultraviolet radiation that comes from the sun . The two types that can damage your eyes are UVA and UVB so therefore it is imperative to protect your eyes from these rays.
However most people don’t realise how vulnerable children’s eyes are. They will have absorbed up to 80% of their lifetimes ultraviolet before the age of eighteen .They spend far more time outdoors so their annual exposure is up to three times more than an adult also their pupils are larger therefore allowing more light in.
With all this in mind here at Eyewise we take the subject very seriously which is why we have a large selection of children’s sunglasses .
