Charity Night

Charity Night

Last Saturday we held our annual Charity Curry Night at All Saints Church Hall. and as usual the event was a sell out .

The evening started with a display of Indian dancing performed by one of Harsh’s nieces who executed it perfectly.

This was then followed by Chris the Magician who was a great hit, he started with a half hour magic show and then  went round to each of the tables performing.

Whilst he was doing this the food was being served, there was a large selection of curries including two meat varieties and two vegetarian. There was also plenty of rice, chutneys and Indian breads which was then followed by cupcakes or Indian sweets. The food was delicious and there was plenty for those who wanted seconds and even thirds.

Also during the serving of the food a steel band called Steelasophical were playing music and once we had all had finished eating  they played and sung which got us up dancing. Much to the delight of all and especially the children they then did a Limbo session which was very good fun and there was a large queue of participants

We also held a raffle and had a great variety of prizes including a tablet, Storm watch and hairdressing vouchers to name but a few.Our thanks to all of those who donated prizes

We were fortunate to have Helen from Michael Sobell Hospice come along to talk about the good work that they do. We even had Harsh’s running vest from the Marathon on display which showed our support for VICTA our other charity.

We raised the grand total on the night the sum of £1370 a great achievement, which will be shared between the two charities. So many thanks to all who either helped, supported or donated on the night and in some cases did all three.
